Help ! My adapter doesn't work
Each adapter has been tested thoroughly before shipping.
If your adapter does not work with your flash and camera please check the following:
You don't need to sacrifice valuable film for the following tests.
Insert an empty film pack in your camera. You can test your flash for 10 exposures.
Remove the film pack and put it back to
your camera to reset the film counter.
- Does your camera work with a flashbar ?
If it does not fire the flashbar there is something wrong with your camera.
If the camera fires the flashbar it should also trigger the adapter because the adapter simulates a flashbar to the SX-70.
Please note that some early Type 1 SX-70 cameras do not fire the flash if there is enough light to take pictures without flash.
The idea behind this feature was to save flashbulbs. Unfortunately this also prevents fill-in flashes.
You have to cover the electric eye to force flash in bright daylight.
In Alpha and later cameras the flash fires always, independent of ambient light.
- Check your Flash and the pc cable.
Connect the cable to the Flash and switch the Flash on.
With an insulated object (such as a sceewdriver) short the center contact and the outer contact.
If the flash fires then the cable and the flash are OK.
